The Compressed Gas Association has announced its first series of technical webinars on the history of acetylene and its properties and handling calcium carbide.

The series begins with three one-hour webinars on:

  1. General History of Acetylene and Its Properties, Part 1 (October 18)
  2. General History of Acetylene and Its Properties, Part 2 (October 25)
  3. History and Current Practices for Handling Calcium Carbide (November 1)

The cost is only $25 per person/per webinar. Register for all three and save 20%.

CGA Seeking Distributors to Join Consensus Body

CGA has initiated the revision of American National Standard P-18, Standard for Bulk Inert Gas Systems, and is seeking 1 – 2 more voters from the distributor category to join the consensus body.

This purpose of this standard to provide information on the design, installation, start-up, maintenance and removal of bulk inert gas systems for argon, nitrogen and helium service.

To satisfy the ANSI requirements for the development of an American National Standard, CGA is required to have an open consensus body that includes a balanced group of voting representatives from multiple interest categories.
