GAWDA extends its condolences to the friends and family of Bruce Leasure, who passed away last year. His obituary can be read in full below, as well as a statement from his colleagues at Middlesex Welding.
Bruce P. Leasure died on Monday, August 24, 2020, surrounded by his family, at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne at the age of 66.
Born in Lackawanna, NY, son of the late Helen (Whitelaw) and Clyde Leasure,
Bruce has been a long time resident of Lower Bucks County.
Bruce co-owned Middlesex Welding Sales with his stepbrother, Gregg Pardun.
For many years Bruce coached for the Bristol Township Girls’ Softball League.
The great loves of his life were his family, fast pitch softball, baseball, Penn State Football, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the beach, this country and countless friends of more than 50 years!
Beloved husband of 43 years to Karen (Carpenter), Bruce is the loving father of Barbara A. Kohler (Kenny) and Helen E. Jones (Steve); devoted grandfather of Justine, Sydney, Susanna, and Leah; and dear brother of Jennifer Hay (Dan) and the late Deborah Steelman.
He will also be sadly missed by nieces and nephews; in-laws; and co-workers.
A Statement from Middlesex Welding:
We are mourning the loss of our friend and co-worker, Bruce Leasure, who passed away on August 24th. Bruce is co-owner of Middlesex Welding Sales in North Brunswick and Clydesdale Welding Supply in Mount Holly, both in New Jersey.
Bruce began work part time at Middlesex Welding Sales in the early 70’s when he was in high school. At the time the business was owned by Ed Cansdale and managed by Bruce’s dad, Clyde, a former Airco man. Bruce started, like most Middlesex Welding employees, by filling CO2 and propane and eventually went on to making truck deliveries. After college he came on full time and settled into purchasing.
In 1971 Ed and Clyde purchased Cooney Welding in Mount Holly NJ and dubbed it Clydesdale Welding Supply. In 1978 Clyde Leasure purchased Middlesex Welding Sales from Ed and Ed assumed full ownership of Clydesdale.
Around 1986 Bruce left the business for a few years to work with friends. During that time, his step brother, Gregg Pardun, began work at Middlesex. In time, Clyde decided to retire and and in 1989 Gregg convinced Bruce to come back and run the company as partners which they have done until now. In 1991 they purchased Middlesex Welding Sales from Clyde. In 2005 they purchased Clydesdale Welding Supply from the Cansdales.
Bruce was responsible for day to day operations. He was kind and personable. He was a great team leader which came from his many years of experience coaching youth sports. He did all of our purchasing and was known for his knowledge of equipment, parts and manufacturers. Our customers knew that if it was out there and they needed it, Bruce could get it.
