Additionally, we create and maintain an SEO-searchable print and digital Buyers Guide, a valuable resource that connects industry professionals with trusted suppliers and service providers. This requires our sales representatives to deeply understand our customers’ business activities and marketing objectives to effectively position their companies within this guide and maximize their exposure.

Job Summary

We seek a self-motivated, results-driven Outside Sales Representative to drive advertising and marketing sales across print, digital, social media, and event marketing platforms. This is a 100% remote position that requires strong self-discipline and time management skills to meet deadlines and revenue goals.

The ideal candidate will excel at selling display advertising, digital campaigns, and sponsorship opportunities while supporting on-site event management, member retention initiatives, and Buyers Guide sales. This position requires a blend of strategic sales, relationship management, and marketing expertise, with occasional travel to industry events.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Account Management

  • Sell advertising and sponsorship opportunities across print, digital, social media, and event marketing platforms.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing advertisers while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Cold call and prospect potential advertisers within our industries and other specialized sectors.
  • Close sales and manage a consistent pipeline of advertising, Buyers Guide listings, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Work with creative and editorial teams to develop compelling ad campaigns, digital marketing strategies, and SEO-optimized Buyers Guide placements.
  • Gain a deep understanding of customers’ business activities and marketing goals to position them effectively in our SEO-searchable Buyers Guide and other advertising programs.
  • Manage workload independently to ensure tasks are completed on time and on budget.
  • Assist with collections of outstanding payables in coordination with Accounts Receivable.
  • Meet and exceed sales quotas through proactive outreach and follow-ups.

 

Marketing & Promotions

  • Utilize social media and digital marketing strategies to generate leads and enhance advertiser engagement.
  • Develop integrated marketing plans that include email campaigns, sponsored content, and digital advertising.
  • Contribute to special advertising sections, branded content, and custom marketing solutions.

 

On-Site Event Management & Member Retention

  • Representing the company at trade shows, industry events, and networking functions (occasional travel required).

  • Assist in coordinating on-site event marketing and sponsorship activations.

  • Engage with association members to strengthen relationships and enhance retention.

  • Support membership growth initiatives through strategic marketing campaigns.

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field is preferred (an associate’s degree is required).
  • Proven sales experience (preferably in advertising, media, or B2B sales).
  • Strong ability to sell across multiple platforms, including print, digital, social media, and event sponsorships.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to understand client needs and tailor marketing solutions accordingly.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and remote collaboration tools to manage accounts and sales activity. Pre1 SmartPublisher is our in-house CRM platform
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and digital advertising strategies is a plus.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to travel for industry events as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
