    AWG Names Mike Pelaez as VP of Safety & Environmental Health

    American Welding & Gas (AWG) has named Mike Pelaez as its new Vice President of Safety & Environmental Health, the company announced on its LinkedIn Page.

    “In this role, he will lead enterprise-wide safety and environmental health strategies, supporting our commitment to responsible growth, operational excellence, and most importantly, the well-being of our employees.

    Mike brings a strong background in safety and operations, most recently spending the past eight years with Airgas, where he partnered closely with teams to strengthen performance and foster a culture where safety is embedded in everything they do. He is deeply passionate about developing people, building strong teams, and creating a behavior-based safety culture rooted in accountability, trust, and looking out for one another.An Army veteran and self-described “military brat,” Mike grew up all over the country, spending much of his time near Odessa, Florida, where his love for the beach still runs strong. He currently lives in Brooks, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, with his wife, Belle, on a small ranch they share with two horses and two dogs.
