During the 2026 GAWDA Central Regional Meeting at Notre Dame, Butler Gas Chairman Jack Butler reflected on five decades in the industry.
“There are easier places to give a presentation about longevity than Notre Dame Stadium. But for Butler Gas Chairman Jack Butler, the setting was fitting. Speaking to the Gases and Welding Distributors Association (GAWDA) Central Regional Meeting, Jack reflected on 50 years in the gas business- a career shaped by family, mentors, customers, competitors, industry friendships, hard-earned lessons, and a genuine love for the work.
His message was not really about looking backward. It was about what makes a career, a company, and an industry worth committing to for the long haul.

For Jack, much of that answer has been the industrial gas business.”
